The Mobile Media Workshop provides an opportunity for anyone with a bluetooth camera enabled mobile phone to create their own personal movie clips or mobile animations. The workshop will teach you how to capture, edit and upload micro movies. These can be used to produce animations, video diaries, short films, music videos and anything else that your imagination can create. The workshop provides a platform for you to develop some basic mobile media skills allowing you to create your first mobile movie clip. In addition to this there are tutorials that can be downloaded below to help expand your capabilities at home. All of the software you will need is provided in line with the Pirate University ethic. Its Opensource and therefore free. To help you continue with mobile media practices at home you can download all the required software below. | The Pirate University is a self-institution designed to facilitate the free exchange of skills and knowledge. The project is a social comment on the increasing commodification of education. Its not just about free software, its about free education. A community of people helping each other to gain more skills. Based on the Free, Libre, Open Source Software (FLOSS) Principles the Pirate University plans to create a free and open creative peer education system. Utilising only open source software, a selection of creative workshops and a core curriculum will be created. The one obligation to each student is that they must share and distribute all of their work and their knowledge to others.
